AFL Attains Certification to ISO 9001:2008

Spartanburg, SC – June 18, 2014 – AFL announces that the Quality Management System (QMS) of its Conductor Accessories Division has been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. This is the first certification for AFL’s Conductor Accessories manufacturing facility and the 11th ISO 9001 certification for AFL. To maintain ISO certification, companies must pass a registered third-party recertification audit every three years and a yearly surveillance audit. AFL’s Conductor Accessories facility, which manufactures substation and rail products, was approved for ISO 9001:2008 Certification with zero findings on its initial audit. ADVARIS Cable MES 4.0 now certified by SAP

The company ADVARIS has recently received from SAP the certification “SAP Certified – Integration with SAP Applications” for its solution ADVARIS Cable MES 4.0. By awarding this certification, SAP confirms that the solution is integrable into the application SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM) 5.1. For the system developer from Bruchsal, Germany this certificate represents a significant milestone in the integration of the ADVARIS Cable Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with SAP software. Length-based manufacturers can integrate ADVARIS Cable as a sector-specific production scheduling tool in SAP SCM. Alstom 2013/14 annual results

Between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2014, Alstom booked €21.5 billion of orders, down 10% compared to last year. Sales, at €20.3 billion, showed a 4% organic growth compared to last year. Income from operations amounted to €1,424 million, down 3%, with a 7% operating margin. The net result decreased from €768* million in 2012/13 to €556 million, affected mainly by higher restructuring and financial charges as well as some specific write-offs and provisions.
