Borealis and Borouge, leading providers of innovative, value-creating plastic solutions for the automotive industry, have worked closely with the Renault-Nissan Alliance to develop a new range of polypropylene (PP) materials that meet the designated “Alliance Specifications” (AS). These specifications have been defined in accordance with the Renault-Nissan product portfolio strategy with the aim to apply them globally on all new cars. This follows the trend of using a focused PP product portfolio on common global OEM platforms – such as the “Common Module Family” (CMF), the engineering architecture that covers Renault-Nissan Alliance vehicles for the global compact and large car segments – to bring the cost-performance ratio to the next level. Borealis joins campaigners for Free Movement of Electricity

Borealis, a leading provider of high performance plastics-based solutions for the global wire and cable industry, has come together with 33 other concerned organisations to form an alliance calling for a single European electricity market. The Free Movement of Electricity alliance, whose members range from renewable energy associations to high-tech engineering companies, is urging European legislators to increase competition in the electricity sector, improve security of supply, help deliver climate goals and integrate modern technologies – including renewables.

For the first time, Borouge and Borealis leading providers of innovative plastics solutions for the wire and cable industry world-wide, have organised their global Wire & Cable academy together with SECRI (Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute) as part of the 2011 Annual Technical Conference of CES (China Electrotechnical Society) W&C (Wire and Cable) Committee, which took place at Westin Hotel in Fuzhou on November 10-13, 2011. More than 180 participants of key cable manufacturers and representatives of major Chinese national testing authorities, cable manufacturing machine suppliers and professors from some top universities in China participated in the events.
