Bio – the logical next step in the fight against infection

Marshall-Tufflex’s newly launched antimicrobial trunking system has created a huge amount of interest, with a number of healthcare trusts up and down the country discussing its potential with the manufacturer. Bio Trunking Solutions is a PVC-U cable management system impregnated with a silver-based antimicrobial agent that is proven to render harmless many of the most virulent bacteria, for example MRSA, E-Coli and Salmonella. If someone carrying one of these bugs touches the treated PVC-U, bacteria transferred to the trunking begins to die, minimising the risk of cross contamination. On untreated products, the harmful bacteria will grow.

British manufacturer lends helping hand to international charity

A charity supporting orphans and needy people around the world is preparing to build a new facility in Eastern Europe – with a little help from its friends at cable management specialist Marshall-Tufflex. The manufacturer, based in Hastings, East Sussex, has supplied the International Aid Trust (IAT) with a consignment of cable management products to help it fit out ‘New Hope’, a 90 bed property near the Black Sea coast, about 40 minutes from Odessa, in the Ukraine.

Building designers and electrical contractors looking to bring a new dimension to their work can take inspiration from a project carried out on behalf of a specialist technology college in Cornwall. Architectural practice, The Bazeley Partnership, was tasked by Cornwall County Council with designing a new IT department within the sixth form of Tretherras School in Newquay. The architects came up with a design that included curved cable containment wrapped around a central workstation – the focal point of the room.

Marshall-Tufflex’s stylish new PVC-U cable management system Odyssey was chosen as a key element of the refurbishment of Lawster House, 4000ft2 of prime Dorking office space. The first three-compartment PVC-U system with a completely curved outer profile, Odyssey incorporates a built-in cable tray and adjustable internal/external bends. Its combination of sleek styling and practicality met client Brian Wait’s contemporary design requirements for the building’s refit.
