Alcatel-Lucent provides SK Broadband with 100 Gigabit fiber optic network to meet booming demand for broadband

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and SK Broadband, one of South Korea’s largest broadband service providers, have launched a new 100 gigabit per second (100G)fiber optic network to deliver a wide variety of consumer and business broadband services in the country, one of the world’s most connected societies. SK Broadband has deployed Alcatel-Lucent’s 100G optical coherent technology to address fast-growing subscriber demand for IPTV, high-definition video, high-speed Internet access, Voice over IP, and advanced business services in Seoul and the neighboring GyungGi province.

Aker Solutions awarded Murphy umbilicals

Aker Solutions has been selected to supply two production control umbilicals and three umbilical termination assemblies (UTAs) to Murphy Exploration & Production Company – USA. The products will be delivered to the Murphy operated Dalmatian field in the De Soto Canyon located in the Gulf of Mexico which is jointly owned by Murphy and Ecopetrol America Inc. Contract value is undisclosed.

Telefonica International Wholesale Services (TIWS), part of Telefonica Global Solutions, and Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN) announced today the international upgrade to TIWS’ Sam-1 submarine Cable Network, connecting North and South America with the Infinera DTN-X platform.
