Prysmian wins contract worth more than 90 m euros from INELFE (REE/RTE) for a new electrical interconnection between France and Spain

The new High Voltage link is classified by the EU as “PRIORITY PROJECT” for improving power grids and using renewable energy.

The 2,000 MW rated transmission capacity of the system is an industry world record.

Prysmian Cables & Systems, a leading worldwide player in the energy and telecommunications cables industry, has been awarded a contract worth in excess of € 90 million for a new electrical interconnection between France and Spain. The link will be realised for INELFE, a 50:50 joint venture between the Spanish grid operator, Red Electrica de España (REE), and the French grid operator Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE).
