Cabelte Company Information

Cabelte is one of the largest manufacturers, in the Iberian Peninsula, of energy and telecommunications cables.

Founded in 1938, the company initiated its industrial activity “covering of textile wires for electricity”. In the decade of 70 a process of high investments started, culminating with the construction of the present manufacturer plant located in the metropolitan area of Porto, in the north of Portugal. Presently, Cabelte is one of the four industrial units in the cables area, owned by CABELTE HOLDING, SGPS, SA, in the Iberian Peninsula.

But while great strides have been made in fast-tracking many construction tasks, simplifying the installation of power has proved a harder nut to crack. However, as off-site and modular construction has grown in popularity, with manufacturers and contractors constantly refining the methodology for providing the fabric of these buildings in shortened timescales, the need to address the provision of power became increasingly critical; buildings could go up in double quick time but fitting out power requirements might take just as long as it did several years ago.
